I just noticed something disturbing about Gurren Lagaan. Granted, I've only seen the first eight episodes, but listen to this.
Out of boredom, I started watching clips of movies on youtube. Then I got around to watching clips from a movie I particularly like; Fight Club. It does help that Brad Pitt and Edward Norton are some of my favorite actors of all time, but Fight Club is really good, if a bit disturbing.
However, I've noticed something about the tenor of the relationship between Tyler Durden and The Narrator. Their chemistry seemed, awfully familiar somehow. And then it hit me. Let me spell it how for you:
Tyler Durden=Kamina.
The Narrator=Simon.
Tyler is cool, calls the shots, gets the girl, and is always trying to get The Narrator to believe what he believes. Kamina is cool, calls the shots, get the girl (temporarily anyways), and is always trying to get Simon to believe what he believes.
Both The Narrator and Simon are indecisive, uncool at first glance, need guidance, and certainly not respected like Tyler and Kamina. They even have whiny, high-pitched voices to boot. (I'm now curious to see how Simon would sound if he was played by Norton instead.)
Of course, I can't go into too much detail about Fight Club without spoiling anything, and I haven't seen all of GL yet, but Tyler Durden reminds me way too much of Kamina, and The Narrator reminds me way too much of Simon for me to not notice this.
And now you GL fanboys will never look at Kamina the same way ever again.
Oh, now then, the first rule of xm0123's Domain; if you are a dick about a subject that I care about, expect me to mock you. The second rule of xm0123's Domain; if there is something I find to be overrated, expect me to make light of it. (fuck slayers.) The third rule of xm0123's Domain; I reserve the right to alter my voice however I see fit. The fourth (and last as of now) rule of xm0123's Domain; no comments and no emails. Ha ha.
And that's that. Hope you enjoyed today's entr-have you ever heard of an anime/manga franchise called Galaxy Angel? I've never tried it out, but one of the girls is this pink-haired darling who is just too cute! Kawai-DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!! One time, I was playing Half-Life 2, it was the last segment of the game, and . . . . . oh great, I just got writer's Block again. I'm signing out.
