VNs: the next step?

Hey y'all. My utorrent client's been busy again. And as such, I am now playing a new visual novel, but I'm not gonna tell you what it is just yet. Can I at least play through some of it first? Okay then.

However, to further my interest in VNs, I found a new website.

visual novel database.

It's MAL, but for VNs! And IMDB, but, again, for VNs. Word of warning; I just got back from some of their messageboards, here's a little lesson: not everyone who's interested in VNs is also interested in anime and manga. I guess it shouldn't come as a surprise; any VN that is not a kinetic novel is functionally a video game, and many video game fans are NOT fans of anime and manga, even if they like Japanese-made video games. Remember, I used to be like that myself for eight years between 1999 and 2007. (In fact, when I first started this blog, I hadn't even been into anime for over a year yet.) I even heard them say, "I'd rather be called a VN otaku than an anime otaku! Sure, everyone will think I'm a perv, but at least I don't jack off to Code Geass doujinshi!" (okay, so I reworded that, but be aware, nonetheless.)

As for what VN I'm playing? Well, I can tell you what I'm not playing. I'm thankfully not playing anything with H content this time, and it's not anything by Type-Moon either. Also, I'm not playing Kanon, since I already watched the anime version. What else could I possibly do in the original VN?

1. say something nice.

2. say something snarky.

[Yuichi] (say something snarky) I see; so your full name is Ayu Ayu?

[Ayu] Uguu, IT'S NOT AYU AYU!

But then again, how else am I supposed to bide the time between now and when Blaz Blue: Continuum Shift comes out?

By the way, I am not a member of vndb, and I probably won't be. It is a useful resource though.

But before I go, when I tell you the name of what the VN I'm playing is, you'll understand exactly why I would be interested in playing it.
