Super Mario Bros. Crossover.
The link just goes to the website. I did that in case it gets updated again, so you don't accidentally load up an outdated version.
So, SMB1. Most popular 2D platformer in the world. However, what if one could play through that game, but as a character from a different NES-era platformer. That's what SMBC lets you do.
In addition to Mario, you can also play as Bill Rizer from Contra, Samus from Metroid, Mega Man from . . . Megaman, Simon Belmont from Castlevania, Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden, and Link from The Legend of Zelda. Each of them controls almost exactly as they did from their original games. Each character has their own strengths and weaknesses, and some are good on some levels, but crappy on others. Mario is still playable, even though he's the same as always, however, SMB is his natural habitat. While the game can be beaten with the other characters, their play mechanics don't always mesh with SMB1. With that said, my favorite character is Samus. She's the best jumper, and she has a ranged weapon. And to think, Nintendo tricked everyone into thinking she was a dude back in the 80s . . .
Playing as one character plays music from their NES games during gameplay. This is part of the fun.
Now, another subject. Because of my free time, I started writing more Touhou fanfic. However, I'm making a change; I'm not covering Lotus Land Story in Mentor and protege. I'm going straight to Mystic Square. Truth is, the narrative in LLS is almost non-existent. The only significant thing LLS did was introduce Yuka, but she also appears in MS. Why not just skip to that, and then finally introduce Alice.
Oh man, my interpretation of Alice is what's gonna separate me from other Touhou fanficcers. I can feel it. One more chapter, then I can finally upload her backstory. And then things will finally
