Routes

Let's get back to the Nasuverse for a moment.

I've played through Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night. They are technically of the same universe. With both games combined, that's 8 routes. You wanna see how the routes faired? okay.

8. Hisui route.

Ugh. How do I describe this? Throughout 90 percent of this route, NOTHING FUCKING HAPPENS! And when the ending finally does roll about, it's too depressing, especially the true ending. It is as Coach Z would say, "A real loard! A real loard!" A completely unnecessary route I feel, since the important information is also present in the Kohaku route.

7. Fate route.

Ho hum. Generic "good guy beats up bad guy" route. Way to introduce FSN to people, Type-Moon! No wonder the anime version scared off some people; this route is extremely generic! It doesn't do anything countless shonen/seinen series haven't already done.

And also, between you and me, there's no way Shirou would ever dump Tohsaka for Saber, not even temporarily.

6. Ciel route

I do like this route; I just don't like the spoiled portion below.

Shiki obviously is crushing on Arc, and his choices to stay with Ciel feel extremely forced. I think it would've made more sense if Shiki didn't hook up with Ciel. It's unexpected, and I think would've felt more realistic. And no, this wasn't in any way influenced by my "Shiki/Arc and Shiki/Akiha OTPs!" opinion.

The scenes with Roa were amazing.

5. Kohaku route

This ended with a twist. (insert M. Night Shyamalan joke.) It didn't end how I thought it would. It also contained the revelation of the Hisui route, but ended on a better note, and thankfully, unlike in the Hisui route, stuff actually happened here. I think the only reason this seems so "lowly" placed is that I'm not really much of a fan of the twins. I know; sacrilege, how dare I not whore myself to red-haired maids, but still, not bad.

4. Heaven's Feel route.

Damn dude, this was hard to read, but it was worth it. Shirou and Sakura as an item make sense, Zouken is one of the most evil villains ever, Tohsaka pulls off some amazing bravado, and even Kotomine does interesting stuff. It only lost out to UBW because Shirou doesn't get as much development here, but otherwise, this route isn't as bad as some fans make it out to be.

3. Unlimited Blade Works.

This was my favorite FSN route. Archer's assholishness is explained, Shirou becomes very memorable, it has great action sequences, and the true ending makes me very happy.

Tohsaka-chan was sooooooo cyute in the ending! Shirou/Rin OTP!

also, the true end segways into the fanfic I recommended on Tvtropes perfectly.

2. Akiha route

Dang, I can't decide between this and the Arc route. Ugh, I guess I'll just go with which is my favorite and second-favorite character. This route had it all. Won't say anymore; read it yourself!

1. Arcueid path.

A REAL vampire story. Enough said.

So, 5 great routes, 1 route  I feel ambivalent to, and 2 worthless routes. 5 out of 8 is pretty good. Alright, so when is Kara no Kyouki the anime coming out in America? I'll wait.
