As you know, I've written reviews on MAL, but I haven't copied them here. I won't. Instead, I'll summarize them. The categories will be like this:
Intro: how I start off.
Story: Plot, or lack thereof.
Art and animation: hopefully not retro 80s.
Music: The background noise.
Voice-acting: Hopefully not retro 90s.
Characterization: What are the people like.
Enjoyment: The fun I had or didn't had.
Last Word: Obvious.
Welcome to the NHK.
Intro: Man, I'm glad Funimation saved this anime!
Story: Really depressing, yet fucking hilarious.
Art: When Gonzo didn't run out of money, it was decent. When they did . . . ugh.
Music: Really good! I love the OP!
Voice-acting: Holy shit! An ADV dub that sounds good!? What the fuck!? Well, you got Chris Patton, Greg Ayres, and Luci Christian in the cast, and John Swasey directing; that's a good recipe.
Characterization: So realistic, it will inevitably put off a lot of otakus; and draw in people like me.
Enjoyment: High. No episodes sucked, and the ending was good.
Last word: It's one of the most realistic anime ever, but that's a good thing, I assure you.
Baccano!
Intro: A Japanese production that feels very American . . . Shinichiro Watanabe, is that you?
Story: Three at once, all taking place in the early 1930s. I would've been satisfied with just the 1930 plot, but what the hey, it's all good.
Art: Pretty good. Nothing otherworldly, but nothing bad, either.
Music: It's the 1920s again!
Voice-acting: By jove, it's one of the best eva, sista! You got guys n dolls talkin' like their in a James Cagney pictcha, and it doesn't sound too screwy for the most paht!
Characterization: Better than you think. Ladd Russo is terrifyingly great.
Enjoyment: This show only exists to entertain you. It does that really well.
Last Word: The OVA's really good, too.
Kanon 2006.
Intro: Otakus won't shut up about this, so I tried it out for myself . . . and I loved it.
Story: Slow to start, but really interesting.
Art: BEAUTIFUL! KyoAni's best! I love everything: the character designs, the backgrounds, the animation! This is one reason I love Japanese animation; some of their shows have movie quality artwork!
Music: Decent.
Voice-acting: Really good, especially since this is ADV we're talking about.
Characterization: Some of the best ever. More men should be like Yuichi in real life. Also, NAYUKI AYU AND MAKOTO ARE SUPA KAWAII!!!!! ^_^
Enjoyment: If the start was better and the ending was better, I would've given this a 10. And I'm serious.
Last Word: Kanon was one-step short of becoming one of my top five favorite anime series of all time. As it is, think of it as It's A Wonderful Life, the Animated Edition. (Also, moe girls don't always suck. Fuck you.)
Rebuild of Evangelion 1.11.
Intro: I am not a traditional Eva fan. Therefore, I will look at this with a different frame of reference.
Story: I would've given this a 10 if they didn't cut out most of the school scenes.
Artwork: holyshitamazing. I'd like to see Disney top this.
Music: Really good. Very retro 60s, but that's not a problem; the 60s was the decade of groovy music!
Voice-acting: Absolutely perfect . . . In Japanese. In English? Puh-leeze.
Characterization: better than the older Eva anime.
Enjoyment: Through the roof.
Last Word: WATCH THIS ALREADY!
Tsukihime manga.
Intro: I haven't read this whole series yet, but it's awesome!
Story: Deep.
Art: Akiha-sama is not as pretty! THIS IS HIGHLY UNACCEPTABLE! But otherwise, good enough.
Characterization: Arcueid deserves your worship, and you're a fool if you don't think these characters are wonderfully written.
Enjoyment: I like this almost as much as the original game. Wow. I guess adapting visual novels isn't hard.
Last word: READ THIS ALREADY!
Man, I haven't had the chance to review something I hate yet. Hmm . . . there's still Code Geass . . .
