So much for Half-Life History Month. (And I was enjoying Episode Two more than Episode One, right up until those goddamned Striders showed up.)
I've been playing more Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus, and I've been studying. For one thing, that Russian fansite I found mentioned a GG fansite I've actually heard about: Dustloop. Well, okay, it's more of a messageboard, but now having remembered that such a site exists, I went lurking. I learned some things about AC+, if you're curious. Keep in mind, AC+ is the only GG game I've played, and the only other one I've seen in action was GG XX, AKA, The One Where Robo-Ky Looked Just Like Regular Ky. Anyways, here's my findings:
-Unlocking stuff is much easier in AC+. Unlocking Kliff and Justice is a cinch, and unlocking the EX modes of characters is apparently easier, as is unlocking GG Mode and GGX mode. It took me a while, but I've unlocked all the things I just mentioned.
-Survival Mode is easier, since you can increase your stats now. However, I may be wrong, but completing Survival Mode is apparently the only way to unlock the Shadow and Gold forms of the characters, which I haven't accomplished yet.
-According to a Dustlooper, (my term) Kliff and Justice have been, "seriously nerfed" for AC+. Mind you, I can win battles with them, but if these two were apparently unbalanced in the past, hmm . . .
Now then, Some other things I've found out. In GGX Mode, which is said to play like Guilty Gear X, you can't use psych bursts. Also, in GG Mode, you can't use psych bursts, and everyone moves a lot faster. Suddenly, the Turbo Mode in Capcom games seems mundane in comparison. (A Dustlooper did say the original GG was horribly unbalanced. Then again, could 2D fighters really move that fast on the PS1?)
Also, I'm getting better with more characters. I'm really good with Baiken. She doesn't have many special moves, but she hits for a lot of damage. I'm also really good as Sol, but not Order Sol, though. Faust is great, and not just for the theme song. And, being the combo freak that I am, I also enjoy playing as Jam, not for the panty shots. And with a little practice, I can win with Johnny. Some characters, though, I suck with. I can't win with Bridget, A.B.A., Dizzy, and Anji, unless if I get lucky. I'm still trying to figure out how to control Zappa. Everyone else, I'm okay with.
Oh, and yes, I've been acquiring more GG music. Nice to know that I have more listening material now.
