Strawberry Fields Forever

Somehow, I don't know how, but throughout this week, I found time to watch Disc 6 and 7 of Eureka Seven.

I still love this show. It has yet to disappoint me. I know for sure that I want to order the rest of the series, which I will do in due time.

However, something funny from the last episode I saw, #30, someone plays a rock album. They call it, "Old music." Considering that most of the diegetic music in the series has been some form of electronica, it leads me to believe, since when did rock and/or roll become "old" and become replaced by electronica in terms of popularity? This has gotta take place either in the future, or in an alternate reality, 'cause there's no way that's true in my world!

By the way, Holland doesn't like, "Old music." I'd criticize his taste in music if it weren't for the fact that I like a few techno beats myself.

IN OTHER NEWS . . . .

A HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! I HAVE BEATEN THE ESTABLISHMENT YET AGAIN!!!!!!

"Wow! You sound happy, xm! What could be up? Wait, 'beaten the Establishment'? You didn't download more ROMs, did you?"

No. Something a little more, mainstream, but no less awesome.

"What?"

Input these words into your search engine: "youtube" "mp3" "converter".

That's right. There are programs that let you convert audio from youtube vids and turn them into MPEG-3 audio files, or MP3s. All you do in copy and paste the link of the youtube audio you want, set the file name and sound quality, and BAM! You just got more music!

There is a catch, though. It does work as advertised. However, even if you set the audio quality as high as possible, it will only as good as the audio in the youtube video itself. And as you know, most youtube vids don't come in anything other than mono.

Take for example, Spider-Pig. On my computer, I have a 5.1 surround system. Yes, it is the full song from the Simpsons Movie soundtrack, but since it's in mono, the sound only comes from my subwoofer and center system. My other satellite speakers are silent. If I convert it as is, I don't get stereo sound quality, and certainly not 5.1 either. Oh sure, I still get bass from my subwoofer, but it just sounds too tinny on my speakers.

However . . .

Remember those times I linked some Vocaloid songs? Not those novelty songs like Super Mario Bros. in Japanese, but rather, those really good songs? Those "videos" had stereo sound. And guess what? I've been downloading some. Yes, the Vocaloids have come back into my life, WITH A VENGEANCE!

In fact, get a converter, go back to those two songs I linked, (a rock remix of "Dreaming Leaf", and "Light Song", oh heck, the original "Dreaming Leaf" is good, too.) download them, then direct your browser:

here.

That piece, "Miracle Paint" sounds like the kind of music my grandmother listens to. Mind you, my grandma has good taste in music. You can get an MP3 of that sound even without a converter. Oh, but since I'm sure, I'll also link you here. That piece sounds like Megaman music. Which is a good thing. And I have an MP3 of that song, because I'm just that cool.
