So, I finished disc 9 AND 10 of Eureka Seven. Here is how I feel about the series now:
Whoa man.
Just, whoa, man.
Can this be any more epic? And to think, most anime fans seem to think E7 is only "okay" compared to more well-received series. Why is that? I've already proven that other anime series, Haruhi notwithstanding, can't stand up to E7. Okay, some series come close, but still! Why is this? Why is it that semi-popular series are almost never adored? It's always shows popular with "normal people" as in people who watch anime not knowing what it is, or extremely obscure shows that most people never hear of in their entire lives, and are only known by really serious fans and/or "real" fans. Yeah, look at me, when it comes to "popular" series, I like Bleach and Naruto, but not love them. When it comes to obscure series . . . I think the only anime show I've seen that was rather unknown that didn't completely suck was Scrapped Princess. And shows in the middle when it comes to their popularity? They either "really suck" or are "meh" according to most fans. Well that's not always true. E7 is, as far as I've seen, something beautiful, something to be cherished. So there. Ha ha.
Oh, today's Halloween. I don't trick-or-treat. And I didn't dress up. I haven't dressed up in eleven years. And even then, it wasn't anything special. And kids did come to my house for treats, but they all wore generic costumes.
But, if I could, there's some characters I'd like to dress up as:
Edward Elric. Gee, I wonder why.
L. I could probably actually do this. I have clothes just like L's. Now if I could only imitate his voice and mannerisms.
Dr. Strangelove. Old movie example. I'd love to do this, if only so I could move around, then all of a sudden shout, "MEIN FUHRER! I CAN VALK!!!!!" and perform the Nazi salute, then attribute said salute to a case of alien hand syndrome.
But yeah. I also hope to see creative costumes amongst the trick-or-treaters. I always hope to see boys dress up in costumes I'd like to see. "Yeah, like anyone's gonna come dressed as Rorshach!" And, since I don't believe in cross-dressing, there are some girl costumes I'd like to see as well.
Not revealing costumes! GAWD!
But there are some girl cosutmes I'd like to see. "xm, girls aren't gonna come dressed as Sakura or Yukari or whatever other manga/anime chick you think are cute! It'll never happen!" Oh shut up, realist inner voice.
But come on, man! I wanna see some videogame characters! Where's HK-47? Where's Auron? Where's Dante? These are all great ideas for costumes!
And so, once again, Halloween disappoints me.
