Alas, poor Shinji-kun, I knew him well

I'm sure every English-speaking otaku already knows this, but one of the DVD versions of Eva has some bonus material by Spike Spencer, AKA, the English voice of Ikari Shinji. (Hey look, Japanese order of telling someone your full name!) He does some great in-character improv of the ending of the tv version of Eva. He's as confused as we are. No wonder the more sympathetic fans adore him.

Don't believe me? Go here.

Let's just say, seeing that made me ROFLLMAO. Yeah.

But now I have this insatiable urge to read the manga version of Eva. Many people say it's better than the anime version. Hmm, a version of Eva that's good enough for me to enjoy; I just might be an Eva fanboy after all! Maybe I'll read the first volume next time I'm at the bookstore.

In other news, the reason I haven't been able to watch E7 recently is because my parents are going to host a family reunion in the near future. I've been helping with the preparations. Unfortunately, that leaves me no time for my DVDs. Maybe after the party is over, I can watch again. This might not be for another week, however. Or maybe not, we'll just have to see how things turn out.

But I like that dialog, though. Even though I've bashed Eva's English dub in the past, I gotta at least give them credit for that.
