Geeze, how long have I gone without talking about Touhou!?!?!?!
Too long, in fact.
So to kick off, ever heard of Touhou Mother? it's an RPGMaker game that is a crossover between the Mother games and the Touhou games. Considering how weird both of those series are, it works.
Okay, I'll admit, I haven't actually played it nor its (currently unfinished) sequel, but I have been watching these. It's how I know. I love seeing how it remixes Touhou music, as well as Mother music, in new ways.
Oh, but that's not all!
The all-English Touhou Visual novel, Easern Starlight Romance, has seen a new release! Well, it's still not finished yet. But the graphics have been updated, and it has more music! More Touhou remixes, you could say. New demo is here.
New stuff is good. It gets more dramatic later on. I like the portraits of the characters that didn't have a portrait in the first demo. It is, for all intents and purposes, one of the best Touhou fanworks I have seen. There's even a bad end you can get that is tragic as get out, yet strongly executed at the same time.
Best new thing about ESR? A remix of the extra boss theme from Great Fairy War. It made me grin like a maniac.
And where would I be without linking Touhou remixes to youtube!?
We start with a remix of the most remixed song of all time: Flandre being cute!
And also, Stage 3 Subterranean Animism. Sounds like something from Okami.
And now a remix of . . . wasn't this from Mountain of Faith originally? Whatever, it's good.
And lastly, Meiling circa the 1920s.
And before I forget, my fanfiction.
Yeah, we all know now that I'm producing ebooks for money. I write new material for my ebooks every day. Yet sometimes, I still find time to write fanfiction. I still have three active series, after all.
My next released fanfic will most likely be part three of Gensokyan Backstories, the one about Youmu. I've got a better idea of what the next chapters will be about.
GB 4: SECRET! (I have written bits of this already)
GB 5: Someone from the Scarlet Mansion. (I have decided exactly who, but I won't say, beyond that it's someone from the SDM.)
GB 6: Templates like this are forbidden. (AKA, you're not supposed to know just yet. The character is decided, though.)
As for the followup to Eternal Blossom, yeah, I've been writing more of that, also. When I finish it, more things will make sense. Maybe. Maybe.
Last Word: The retail release for Ten Desires should be next month. I am still anxious to see the new characters and music.
