Awesomeness Withdrawal, and why it sucks

Look here.

Now, I think this is a slight exaggeration. I've only had two times in my life that I would describe as truly wonderful, and neither of them were brought about by works of fiction. However, I have had AW a few times. I can't recall every instance of this, but here's a few examples.

-When FX stopped airing reruns of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I had AW. I got over it, but not for a while.

-When I finished playing Chrono Trigger for the first time from start to finish, I had AW. I got over it . . . by simply playing the game again.

-When I finished the SNES (or should I say Super Famicom?) version of Tales of Phantasia, I had AW. I got over it, but it was months before I found another game that was an experience as complete as that one.

-When I finished my second playthrough of Fallout 3, I got AW. I got over it . . . but only when Fallout: New Vegas came out.

-When I finished Eureka Seven, I got AW. I'm still suffering from withdrawal on this one, since I've yet to find a Japanese animation as good as E7.

-When Rescue Me ends later this year, I'm predicting another case of AW. Same goes for the manga version of Fullmetal Alchemist.

However, I've got a new case of AW, one that is badly affecting me. And you know what's funny? It's stemming from only the first half of something!

"Wait, first half of something? You don't mean . . ."

(thunder crack)

"Hahahahahahahaha!"

Oh yes, Umineko fever is driving me nuts. Except for Rescue Me, Futurama, and FMA, nothing, NOTHING I have experienced since discovering Umineko matches up. (And those are all series I discovered before Umineko.) 07's own Higurashi doesn't match up, Little Busters doesn't match up, all the anime I've tried to watch don't match up, all the games I've tried since then don't match up, all the fanfics I've read (including my own) don't match up . . . nothing does!

Even before I finished EP4, I was addicted. Do you know what I started every morning with?

Happy Maria.

I've been downloading fanart of Umineko. Most of my fanart stems from either Touhou (surprised?) or Type-Moon, but now? There's a good chunk of Umineko fanarts on my hard drive now. What's my most recent Type-Moon fanfic about? A Cookie Cutter Fic wherein Type-Moon characters are apparently Umineko characters. (Oh, but you still haven't learned why that is yet, ihihihi!) I just wrote Battler's laugh! And when I finish the canon, I intend to check out Umineko fanfiction!

Oh, and here's something else. One of my English textbooks from college contained works in the public domain, including The Divine Comedy. Guess who started reading that again? And not just the segments I was assigned during class?

Oh yeah, I also found a "Which Umineko character are you?" poll. I tried it. It said I was most like Ange. The description reads: "Somehow you feel distant from the current society, and would like to close up in your own small world - or rather, you just can't find anybody to open up to. You can still manage other people, but your social skills need some practicing. Even though you don't believe in magic, it doesn't mean it doesn't exist."

I will admit, Ange is very, very similar to how I used to be in my early teen years, save for the suicidal part, thankfully. Some of her traits are still a part of me. (I can open up to people, it's just I often don't trust them enough.) However, during my late teen years, I was more like Kanon. Now . . . not quite as much. When I did that, I thought I was gonna get Battler, seeing as how most people I know believe the exact opposite of things I believe, but I guess not.

But it says 33 percent of the pollsters also got Ange. Maybe . . . she's just the easiest one to get? I took a "Which Fate character are you?" quiz, got Tohsaka . . . and so did half of Beast's Lair. Then again, in my Type-Moon fics, I find Tohsaka the easiest character to write . . . am I a male version of her?

But can you see how badly I want to continue Umineko!? I just checked Witch-Hunt . . . still no update! I'm going crazy!

BEATRIIIIIIIIIIICE!
