Heya, Internet. Being on break for a long time makes you do a lot of things.
Like watch Japanese animation.
Yeah, I found another anime series to watch. But can you blame me, though? I only discovered good anime about a year ago, and there's still a few series and movies I'd like to watch. Trust me, I am not that much of a fanboy.
Although I can say I'm a fan of Scrapped Princess.
Now, at first glance, SP may appear to be a medieval RPG in tv format, and the first episode certainly reinforces that image, but by episode 2, it becomes apparent that this is more than your average action-adventure. I don't wanna go into massive detail about the series right now, but rest assured, it's very watchable.
However, I really just felt like writing this because I'm watching SP dubbed, (Take that, dub haters!) and this is a very professional dub job. And when I approve of good dubs, I like to indulge in . . .
VOICEOVER TRIVIA!!!!!
Holy smokes, if Japanese cartoons and videogames were more mainstream, the cast of SP would be freakin' megastars by now. However, much like with the last show I watched, Chobits, it seems like just about everyone from that show is in Scrapped Princess as well. Let's see . . . Crispin Freeman, who was Hideki, is Shannon in SP. Michelle Ruff, who was Chii, is Winia in SP. Bridget Hoffman, who was Chitose, is Raquel. Wendee Lee, who was Hideki's teacher, is . . . several characters in SP, including the Beast Princess. And if you listen closely enough, you'll also recognize the vocal talents of Kari Wahlgren, Yuri Lowenthal (whose performance as Leo in SP is one of my favorite roles of his), Steve Staley, Kirk Thorton, Lia Sargent, Steve Blum, Michael McConnohie, and Dave Wittenberg, among others.
Yeah, I seem to like being able to recognize people, even if it's only by voice. But watch Scrapped Princess if you're bored enough. It's really good, trust me.
