The first PS3 game I played was Infamous.
Infamous is not a ripoff of GTA. It is a GTA clone, and an effective one.
I can't say much about Infamous because I didn't get that far, but I can say this: I like how the karma system works, I like the sound design, I like the controls of the game, I like how your guy can scale up buildings with the greatest of ease, and while the enemies attacking you in-between missions does get annoying, you can "clean up the streets" to prevent their respawning.
I like it more than Crackdown for the 360.
Even though you can't drive vehicles, you don't really need to. I'll definitely rent this again.
P.S. I'm playing as a good guy in Infamous. I prefer to be loved, not feared.
