Go to Funimation.com. Notice that at one point, they had Mushi-shi, Kanon, and Welcome to the NHK available in their entirety in the past? Now you can only watch the first four episodes again. But they they had the whole series available not that long ago. There's only one reason why they would do this:
BECAUSE IT'S A CONSPIRACY! THEY WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT I WOULD WATCH AN ENTIRE ANIME OF THEIRS SO THAT WHEN THEY TOOK IT OFF, I WOULD REALIZE THAT IF I WANTED TO WATCH IT LEGALLY AGAIN, I WOULD HAVE TO BUY IT!
And guess what happened recently? I bought Darker Than Black and Kanon on DVD.
THEY'RE STEALING MY MONIES!
But I don't regret it, though. DTB is a classic, and watching Clannad made me nostalgic (how could I be nostalgic for a series I first watched just a few months ago?) for Kanon. I am going to watch DTB again soon, so maybe this time, I might actually analyze the first season. Isn't that great?
Oh, also, if you get the "S.A.V.E." edition of Kanon like I did, beware of opening the case; the inside cover artwork will set off a moexplosion when you look at it.
"Ah, the DVD version of Kanon! Now I can compare the Japanese dub to the English! Now then, just to open it up . . . OH GOSH! NAYUKI-CHAN IS ADORABLE! AND . . . AND AYU-CHAN LOOKS LIKE SHE HAS CAT EARS ON! NEKOMIMI AYU! AND LOOK! THERE'S MAKOTO-CHAAAAAAAAN!"
Kanon predates Clannad, so I could say it was the epitome of the moe phenomenon back in the day. I did get some dirt on the original VN version of Kanon. If it's like the VN of Clannad, I may want to play that, too. However, the character art is nothing like the anime's; it's a huge step down from KyoAni's take. In fact, only one girl is still pretty in the VN. Three guesses as to whom that is.
